Description: Zsolnay Art Nouveau Wall Plate, eozin glazed, relief decorated item. Unique, rare limited Zsolnay item, special for this event. On the Surface there is a young couple, background the Pozsony Castle and the text: "Pozsonyi mezőgazdasági kiállítás 1902" Agricultural Exhibition in Bratislava 1902. The frame amasing Art Nouveau decoration with hearts and wheats. All covered beautiful, iridescent eozin glase. Signed: Zsolnay round mark and 6690 shape number. Age: 1902. Diameter: 25,5cm/10inch. Perfect condition. (The scratches are not really noticeable, on photos visible because of the light condition.) In 1902. was a huge Agricultural Exhibition in Pozsony/Bratislava. From the second part of 19th century till the I. World War World Exhibitons were very popular. The begining was in 1851, in London, the first Expo, but the largest celebrations were in Paris. In Austro-Hungary Monarchy there was a World Exhibition in 1896. The National Agricultural Expo was as popular as these World Exhibitions. This plate a memorable from the second National Agricultural Exhibition from Pozsony/Bratislava. This wall plate was made for this event in the Zsolnay Company. (II. The photographed object was taken in natural filtered light without flash, surface reflections may be a consequence of that.
