Description: Zenith 12-S-568 Shutter Dial Floor Console Radio. This 3 Band multicolored dial Radio is in excellent used condition. Built and sold in 1941 for a whopping 500.00, this model was one of the last "Shutter Dial" (clamshell operation) models sold. It has a Black, Gold and Blue Shutter Dial for each of the 3 bands. Fantastic sound using 6AC5 push-pull output tubes with tone controls that can have 64 unique tone combinations. It has 12 tubes and a 15-inch Permanent Magnet Speaker. Reception Bands are Standard Broadcast (AM) and 2 for Short-Wave. Dimensions are 28 x 41 x 14.6 inch. Completely original and working, this radio retains its original shine and luster. There are minor imperfections AKA: patina, but all in all it is in excellent condition. The only thing changed from the last 50 years was a couple of tubes and a few wires that had the insulation crumbling from age. Contacts/switches were also periodically cleaned. The dial slips a little but new dial cords/material are available on the net. This is a pick up, or contact us prior to sale.
