Zane Grey, Tales of lonely Trails, The 1922 1st Edition in the Rare Dust Jacket

A very good+ copy of the 1922 First edition (G-W date code on copyright page) in the rare and unclipped dust jacket which is also in very good+ condition. A nice example of the first edition bound in finely woven green cloth stamped brightly in gilt along with the photographic paste-down of Grey on the front boards. Heavy stock paper with deckle edges and loaded with black and white photos of Zane Grey's adventures in Colorado, Death Valley, the Tonto Basin, Roping Lions in the Grand Canyon and more. Condition: 8vo. 394pp. Light wear to edges and corners, browning to the spine and softening to the spine ends. The book is square, the binding is tight although hinges are a bit loose. Toning to the endpapers and some page edges, with intermittent foxing throughout. Small bookseller label to lower rear endpaper along with a book seller inventory number and price marked in pencil. The dust jacket with the $3.00 price is remarkably well preserved with heavy toning to the once white paper, some chipping to the lower front cover and spine ends and a couple of chips to the upper left front cover. The nearly 100-year old jacket is rare in any condition and much coveted by collectors and this one is a beauty!
