Description: This Yamaha FG-140 "Nippon Gakki" Acoustic Guitar is a vintage 1971 Red Label model. The "Nippon Gakki" refers to the Yamaha sub company that produced their acoustic guitars before Yamaha made the decision to name all their products after the parent company sometime in the mid-70s. On a personal note, I had a childhood friend who owned one of these acoustic guitars and played it at church. I can remember it's sweet, warm, baritone sound filling the entire room, and this guitar brings back great memories as I play it. The guitar does show evidence of neck repair on the arch supporting the neck where it meets the body. Please see the third picture I posted. This, of course, does not affect the sound or playability of the instrument. There are plenty of minor scratches throughout the body and the pickguard, but that is to be expected for a guitar that is over 50 years old. Overall, his is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar and an excellent piece of history, worthy of any guitar player's collection.
