This comes with a metal scabbard. Many of these bayonets were assembled from older parts. They were manufactured in the AS.FA plant in Turkey. We have several of these and the photographs are a representation of what you will receive. Overall, this bayonet is in Good - Very Good condition. The press catch is functional with stiff spring tension. The pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They have impact marks, scrapes, light oxidation and are in the white. The rivets securely fasten the grip panels to the tang and have light oxidation. The wood panels have scattered light compressions and draglines. They feel a little bit gritty. They have darkened with age. The spine, sides and fullers have light handling marks and light scrapes, but no notable unusual wear. There are a few very small nicks and dings on the blade edge. It appears to have been sharpened at some point. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The finish is in the white. There is a light layer of cosmoline. The left pommel is marked with a serial number and the right side pommel is marked "AS.FA". The scabbard is in Good - Very Good condition, considering its age. The mouth, body and finial have light scrapes, scratches, impact marks and oxidation. The frog stud is securely attached to the body. Most of the finish has turned to a dark patina color and parts of the finish have worn off and are in the white. There are no visible markings on the scabbard. This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your Turkish Mauser rifle, or a bayonet collection in general. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
