Description: This auction is for the following autographed 4x6 photograph: BIO: Captain Charles Mohrle WWII 1943-1945 D-Day Fighter Pilot of P-47 “Touch of Texas” Air Force 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group. Took part in St. Mere-Eglise mission to attack anti aircraft guns ahead of the bomber’s approach to target, and then range south of the area and attack any German troop movements toward the battle zone. Later served as air support for General Patton’s Third Army. Dive bombing, skip bombing and strafing attacks on German battle tanks, trucks, trains, artillery and infantry, destroyed enemy mobility and weaponry in front of the 3rd Army forces. Flew 97 combat missions, DFC, 16 Air Medals. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC HAND AUTOGRAPHED 4x6 PHOTOGRAPH. I ONLY SELL AUTHENTIC HAND AUTOGRAPHED MEMORABILIA.
