Description: WWII Japanese Type 30 Training or School Bayonet w/Metal Scabbard for Type 38 or 99 Arisaka Rifle - LBT-28 Variation T-T - Very NICE Condition - RARE Up for sale is a WWII Era Japanese Type 30 Training or School Bayonet w/Metal Scabbard for the Type 38 and Type 99 Rifle. It has no markings on the blade. It has a school marking and serial number on the wooden grips. Approximate Blade length 15 1/4". Bright fullered Blade, two screws in contoured wooden grips, Birdshead Pommel and Straight Crossguard. Two-piece construction. It has evidence of sharpening, scratches and grind marks on the blade. No nicks or chips in the blade. Minor finish wear. Wooden grips are nice, no chips. The bayonet has a metal scabbard. The scabbard has a few minor dings and one dents. Also some minor surface pitting. See photo's for condition. See Raymond C. LaBar book "Bayonets of Japan", LBT-28, variation T-T, page #288, listed as Uncommon 3.
