There is no bending of the head, but there is some rust and it looks like paint was applied period era, or at least prior to the shovel seeing some use. This shovel is the M1910 entrenching tool, used in WW1 by the U.S. Army to dig and fortify trenches. This particular shovel is marked U.S. twice on the handle. The shovel measures 21 3/4" in length x 6 1/2" wide. These original WW1 entrenching tools are getting harder to find, so don't miss out on this one!!
