Description: WWI Era AEF US Army Cavalry M1912 Stirrups for the M1916 Officer's Saddle - US Marked - Steel - NICE Condition Up for sale is a set of WWI Era AEF US Army AEF Cavalry M1912 Stirrups for the M1916 Officer's Saddle. Both stirrups are US Marked, see photos. The stirrups are made of steel. There is some minor surface pitting on both stirrups. These stirrups were used for the M1916 Officer's saddle, as shown in the last two photos from a reference book. Additionally, these stirrups were used as replacement on the leather hooded wooden stirrups used on the later model McClellan Saddles used during and after WWI. Please see photos for details and condition. This would make an interesting addition to your WWI Collection. These are missing from most WWI Collections.
