Description: WWI AEF letter sent by Sgt Miles Gregory, Co F 110 Ammunition Train, to friend in St Charles, MO. Somewhere in France, Nov 17 1918 . . . I haven’t heard from home for two weeks it causes me to worry a little on account of that disease . . Pretty bad in the states . . . Tollie & Doc I saw them while we were on the front they were getting along fine . . . When we were up on the front we were in the drive later we moved back but not out of range of the big guns so you see we been here and there along the lines for better than two months . . Now we are out of range of all of them . . Cannot realize that the war is over . . . I was in Verdun a few days ago you know that was where the Germans attracted so hard it was a great sight . . . Was one of the strongest fortifications in the world the whole city is underground . . .terribly shot up . . . It’s a sight . . .
