Description: Original WW2 British map of BURMA entitled "IRRAWADDY" which features a rare set of pilot's notes to the rear regarding his important 'AIRCRAFT RECOGNITION SIGNALS' (SEE PHOTOS). These were a system of different coloured flares and Morse Code letters to be exchanged between Allied airbases and approaching friendly aircraft in order to identify hostile threats. The signals were changed on a daily basis and issued as confidential material. (I have a set in my own collection if anybody would like to see a photo.) "FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY" Scale 1:1,000,000 Printed in 1942. In 'service used' condition with two small holes seemingly caused by water (see photos). It seems that the side margins have been slightly trimmed at some point, no doubt for operational purposes. Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. (Seller's Ref - WW1023 / 8)
