Description: A recovered example of the larger half of aWorld War Two British ArmyMess-tin SetDated 1941 Located recently in a barn on a farm south of Caen, near Bayeux in Normandy,the first town that the British Army's 50th Northumbrianstook and occupied on June 7th in North Western France after the June 6th Invasion of the Normandy coast-line. The tin has been used 'in the field' and shows evidence of both its war-time usage & light surface rust but as been left exactly as it was found recently in France. Maker-marked B 2 41it is in a used, issued condition.and though now only one half of the original two piece set,is a great souvenir of the Allied heavy fighting that took place across Normandyafter the June 6th D-Day Landings of 1944 Thanks for looking..!
