When the Squirrel Box is full, simply unscrew the screw on the side to harvest your nuts. Expect a lot of acorns and walnuts but squirrels do gather a variety of fresh nuts. The hole is intentionally made small because squirrels like tight areas protected from predators. As long as the open is at least 1", the squirrel can fit. Also, squirrels are very flexible and can stack up 6-12 at a time in this squirrel box if they want to. They enjoy being packed in together for companionship and protection.
