Description: Vintage William Steig (1907-2003, American) enamel copper plate, features an image of a man pierced by a spear in black and inscription "If You Are Good-Natured People Step All Over You" below, signed "W. Steig" and stamped "Bernad" on the verso.Other enamel plates are listed in my Etsy shop, including works of Steig.William Steig was a cartoonist, sculptor, and, in his later life, an illustrator and writer of children's books.
