Wild Alaskan Cross Fox Pelt - fabulous red silver and black colors!

Description: This absolutely fabulous wild Alaska cross fox pelt will make a stunning addition to any natural history or artistic reference collection. It measures over 55 inches long from end to end and was professionally tanned in the mid-2010s. It includes all the fine details including ears, nose, whiskers, and tail. All of the feet are complete with claws and paw pads. This pelt is in excellent condition for a vintage pelt: the tail has been reinforced with anti-tear material on the leather side so this incredible pelt will stand up well to many more years of display or gentle handling. If you intend to use this pelt for heavier duties such as costuming or educational purposes, you might consider reinforcing the entire back/leather side with another material to help prevent tears. The cross fox is a naturally occurring color variation of red fox (vulpes vulpes) that's uncommon and may be seen more often in northern latitudes. This fox has all the hallmarks of an animal that thrives in a very cold northern climate including incredibly thick, soft, dense fur and thick fur between the paw pads. Even though this is a wild fox, the fur quality and size of the tail is right up there with a "farmed" fur (please note: we have chosen not to source any items from fur farms). This is a great one-of-a-kind opportunity for conscientious natural history collectors to obtain a vintage or secondhand-sourced wild fox of exceptional quality. This hide will be carefully folded and shipped in a hard-sided box to protect it. Pelts that have been shipped may have wrinkles or flattened hairs, but all you'll need to do to restore it is hang it up for a few days so the pelt can relax back into its natural shape.
