Description: Periodically we experience problems with our scanner. Today is one of those days. Depending upon which view you choose, the first scan may show horizontal lines and/or cross hatching marks. Rest assured, these are not on the card itself. Usually scanning problems are confined to color pictures but today it's "advanced" to black and white!Offered for your consideration is . . . Vintage Photo-Card on 2X to 3X thick photo stockWILCY MOORE, Pitcher ~ 1938 Oakland Oaks: won 19 games as a 30-year-old rookie for the '27 Yankees Same photographs as 1938 Signal Gasoline baseball stamp In 1938, Signal Gasoline issued 24 photo stamps for distribution at Oakland Oaks Pacific Coast League games. An album for mounting the stamps was also issued. The originals are quite scarce. None is currently on eBay nor has one been offered in the past few months. Recently, we acquired 22 of the 24 in black & white photo card form. These photo-cards (1-13/16" X 2-3/4") are slightly larger than Signal Gas' stamps (1-5/8" X 2-3/8") and are on a thick (at least 2X to 4X normal photo stock). We contacted longtime PCL collectors who report they have never encountered them previously. We are offering individually one each of the 22 photo cards we acquired. They are likely NOT original to 1938. We would estimate they were produced in the 1960's or 1970's for someone's personal use since none (to our or our PCL friends' knowledge) was previously known to the hobby. Of the 24 original stamps, we acquired 22 different photo-cards. There was no card for Floyd Newkirk or Dutch Zwilling. The third and fourth scans show all 22 photo-cards we acquired, for informational purposes only.
