Description: White Buffalo Dancer Kachina- 17"- Truly beautiful Kachina- Artist Irene McBrown- Free shipping- (Please check out the other kachinas in this collection). Irene McBrown is a well-known Navajo kachina maker from Shiprock, NM. This kachina is part of a collection of my husband’s. His father ran trading posts on the Navajo Nation from approximately 1940 to 1960. Most are in good condition, except where noted. Most have artist’s names on the bottom, with the exception of one or two. White Buffalo Dancer, or Kocha Mosairu in Hopi language, may appear in dances in January, or during winter dances. at Second Mesa, as a social dancer. It represents the most sacred of animals and is a symbol of life and abundance- a sign of great strength. This is a beautifully made kachina, lots of attention to detail. Trimmed in a soft white and tan fur and brown leather, the artistry of Irene McBrown is evident in the carving and way she has trimmed the belt and arm bands in shells, with smaller matching shells hanging from leather straps. This kachina is in very good used condition, and truly a beautiful piece. Signed by artist. He will be well-packaged in foam or bubble wrap, shipped priority mail. Free shipping.
