He was among the leading lights of the radical Dalit Panthers group, together with Namdeo Dhasal and Arun Kamble. His best known works, in addition to 'Jevha Mi Jaat Chorli Hoti', are 'Maran Swasta Hot Ahe, Sud' and 'Ambedkar Bharat'.
