You can use a free app like Strobe Light Tachometer for Apple or LED Strobe for Android. Position your device over the turntable with the strobe light on while the record is spinning. Dim the room to increase the contrast. Phone camera Place the record on the turntable and set it to 33 RPM. Use your phone's camera app and set the frame rate to 30 FPS. Position your phone between 6–12 inches from the record and use a tripod to help. Point the camera at the record in a bright light. The brighter the light, the clearer the image will be. You can also adjust the focus and lower the exposure to darken the picture.
