Description: for sale is a vintage Niagara No. 2 Model 60 hand operated, crank grinder sharpening wheel. It is a recent find and it will need restoration. It will need a serious cleaning. It will also need additional lubrication. I have lubricated the grinder just enough for taking a video and for pictures. (see the video) The hand grinder operates as it should. It will operate better once cleaned and fully lubricated. It is made by the Carborundum Co Niagara Falls and it was sold by the Hibbard Spencer Bartlett Co. under the Our Very Best Brand. At least that is my understanding with the double brand names. The grinder has the original tool rest. The crank handle is in good used condition. The clamping/tightening screw is present and original. There is an issue with the clamping screw. There is a bend about halfway in the middle of the threaded rod. (See pictures 11,12,13,14,15) You can see in the pictures the extent of the bend in the threaded rod. The new owner may want to straighten the threaded rod. It gets difficult tightening to a board only one inch thick. The grinding wheel is decent but will need to be dressed. Please see all pictures for condition. Ask questions before you bid.
