Vtg MCM Wood Tiki God Hand-Carved Figure Tonga Polynesian Wooden Totem Retro Bar

Description: Today I am offering this fabulous vintage carved wooden Polynesian tiki God, I believe is a mid-century modern era souvenir from the islands of Tonga. It represents an ancient culture and their spiritual beliefs. I don't know what kind of wood it is but the color is variegated and mostly blonde on the back and sides. This handsome fellow has a grinning or menacing face, I'm not sure which. He narrows at the top and slopes back from the forehead. The TONGA name is vertically incised in the back. It measures 8" tall, 2" front to back, and 2" wide from side to side. He's in great vintage pre-owned condition with no damage. There are, of course, natural imperfections in the wood, as that is the nature of the material. This will be a perfect addition to your 1950s-60s Tiki bar or Hawaiian/South Pacific themed decor.
