Description: VTG GWTW HAND PAINTED BLUE & PINK FLORAL ELECTRIFIED LARGE PARLOR LAMP 28 1/2 " this was gently converted to electric and could be put back to oil with an oil burner. Because it was so gently done, the electric socket sits in the lamp and is not screwed, welded or bolted down. The chimney holds the bulb upright as the socket is not tightly fitted. You won't notice it with the shade on it. I didn't notice it until I took it apart to wash it. To change the bulb is easily done and then put the chimney and shade back on. I think the original owner couldn't bring himself to damage the lamp. Which is great to retain the value of the lamp This lamp presents beautifully and stately. It has a beautiful blue that starts at the top and fades to white at the bottom on both the font and shade. Complimented with white and pink dogwood blossoms. It has floral arrangements painted on both the front and back on both the font and shade. stands 28 1/2 inches tall to top of chimney 26 inches tall to top of shade the shade is a 10 inch wide shade fitter is 4 1/8 inches across outside edges the font is approximately 8 1/2 inches at widest the base is 6 1/4 inches x 6 1/4 inches it is aged brass the wick knob turns freely and says "Made in US of America" I did not use any brass cleaners on the lamp as some prefer the natural patina it has one very tiny nick in the top edge of the shade. Noticeable upon close inspection. Overall, you wouldn't notice it unless looking for it.
