Description: This vintage Cameron Clay Pottery Ewer/Pitcher is a stunning piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Its unique Solid Black/Weeping Gold pattern exudes an Art Deco style that is both elegant and modern. Please see pictures for further measurements and condition( a couple of paint slips, small scratches and top of handle has a bit of wear) Made with clay and hand-painted decorative handle, this piece measures approximately 7.5 inches in height. It is an original from the 1940-1964 time period, and its backstamp signifies its United States origin. This item is perfect for display purposes or as a centerpiece for any decorative cookware or dinnerware collection. Care instructions include hand wash only. The Cameron Pottery Co. was established in 1904 as a manufacturer of dinnerware. In 1907 the plant was purchased by Elger plumbingware, where the first vitreous china toilet tank was developed. Pieces of their round tanks can still be found at the site. By the mid-1940s the plant had been sold again, and began producing the art pottery it is known for today as Cameron Clay Products, including the distinctive weeping gold finish. In November of 1964, after being sold again, the entire building burned to the ground in a spectacular fire just days before reopening.
