Description: Here we have a slightly vintage Staffordshire blue and white oversized, very deep, saucer in the Royal Art (England) landscape scenery pattern known as RT1, which uses a transfer very like, or exactly the same as, that used for Grindley's Homeland Blue. We believe the saucer was most likely made to fit the breakfast cup, but without that cup, we can't know for sure. We have lots of fabulous vintage transferware in our store, to which we add inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Vintage: unknown, but marked "Microwave Safe," so no earlier than the 1980s Maker/Marks: Royal Art/see photos of back Approximate Measurements: 7 3/8" diameter Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Very clean and fresh, bright and shiny piece. Overall near-mint vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, stains, silver/gray utensil marks, or any other visible marks. Presents as new, with the exception of two tiny, completely colorless, light scratches to the center, the kind that can only be seen under close inspection when the piece is held up at just the right angle to a direct source of light. The pattern is so busy that even when you do that, it's nearly impossible to see them. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
