Description: This beautiful vintage black satin powder compact features an etched gold damascene hummingbird and long, thin leaves applied design on the top and measures 3 inches square x .75" height. There is gold-tone on the sides and front of the compact with a sturdy, snap closure. The inside features an applied mirror, gold-tone around the compartment where the powder would go (the powder part is empty), a cream, mesh, circular base for placing the powder, and a delicate, soft pink powder puff which is unused. The compact is a great addition to any collection and is perfect for use or display on a vintage or Victorian-style dresser or bathroom tray. There are three, very minor condition issues. The mirror, which is attached with glue to the underside of the top, has lifted slightly on the Tom, right side, but adding a bit of glue and pressure is an easy fix. The mirror is not loosening or coming off ... only that top corner. The interior gold surrounding the circular powder space has a tiny brown mark, again an easy fix with a smudge sponge or light metal cleaner. Finally, the top of the square mirror has a small amount of what appears to be a smudge of blue paint, but the sponge and some window cleaner should do the trick. Just a lovely, vintage compact!
