Description: My husband’s grandmother had a lot of gorgeous Black Hills Gold jewelry - listing it all! She was born in 1924. Her and her husband owned a cabin out here in the Black Hills, SD and loved every part of being in the hills. This necklace was manufactured by F L Thorpe (Deadwood, SD) and they sold their jewelry business to Landstrom’s in ‘69 so this necklace dates prior to ‘69. It’s a pretty large piece. She owned another necklace identical to this one but smaller. Original jewelry box - note markings on the back of the necklace- it’s Thorpe’s signature marking. I attached a pic showing the identifying trademarks. Original chain as well. I can’t make out the markings on the lobster claw closure.
