Vtg Alfred Philippe Trifari w/ Crown Pat Pend Mark Brooch Gold Floral Design

Description: This listing is for an Alfred Philippe brooch in gold toned metal and clear rhinestones. This design by Mr. Philippe received a patent (No. 170,209) that was awarded on August 18, 1953. We attached a screen shot of the patent award filing that includes a line drawing of the brooch. The brooch has two flowers down the side and the flower’s stem is centered. Another accent on the pin is filled with baguette shaped clear rhinestones is present and adds variety and depth. The brooch is stamped on the back of the center, “Trifari (with crown on top of the T) Pat Pend”. The pin has a closure with a safety catch. The pin measures 1 1/4” at its widest by 2 1/2” tall by ½” deep. This item is missing one baguette stone. See photo. These items are from the estate of a woman who worked for Pan Am Airlines from the mid 1950s to the mid 1980s and traveled EXTENSIVELY. She had wonderful taste as is evidenced in these pieces.
