Description: Vtg. 70s Herbert Levine T-Strap Pumps Black Suede Tea for Two - 7.5 N Beth Levine designed these classic black suede shoes made by the company she and her husband owned - Herbert Levine Shoes. All their shoes were painstakingly made by hand and are of highest quality. This pair was made for Nordstrom Best Little Shop Shoes ( Designer Shoe Salon) in Seattle, WA The design is called Tea for Two and the style is a T-strap which was a popular design from the 1920's brought back by Beth Levine for the Mod High Fashion Customer of 1972 when they were purchased. The shoes were worn only a time or two and are in impeccable vintage condition. You can see a tiny bit of wear on the soles but none at all on the upper portion of the shoes. Herbert Levine shoes are highly sought after and valued by vintage shoe collectors as well as vintage fashionistas who wear them. They are as fashionable today as they were when they were made - perhaps even more so! Museums have recently presented shows of shoes designed by Beth Levine for Herbert Levine Shoes. This pair is definitely museum quality. Gorgeous, Wearable if you want, and Highly Collectable. ***Come with original box which shows a little wear but has perfectly protected this pair for 50 years! IMPORTANT NOTE: After listing was posted this pair of shoes was requested by Nordstrom for a promotion article on vintage fashions they previously sold in their store. I sent the shoes to the photographer studio in the red box. They were photographed and returned to me without the box! I immediately contacted the photographers. They searched, but could not locate the red box. Therefore I now offer the shoes w/o the red box. I have taken $40 off the original price to compensate for this. I am very sorry! Shoes are still in original condition - were not damaged - original price was $250, now $210. Size is 7.5 N True to size. I recently had them measured by Nordstroms designer Shoe salon to be sure. I would keep them if they fit me, but, lucky for someone else, they are a little too tight! The over all volume in a shoe is important - I sometimes buy a narrow vintage shoe in a size larger than I normally wear and because the volume is increased by the length being greater I am able to wear them. Example: My real size is 7.5B. I cannot wear these ( too narrow) but I have 2 pairs of Herbert Levine shoes in size 8N and I am able to wear them. The extra volume provided by the longer size works for me. Therefore I think this Tea for Two pair might work for a size 6.5 or size 7 modern foot size providing that foot is not too wide. They made a lot of really narrow shoes in the old days and I think many women wore a bit longer size to accommodate for this. So, you might consider this method of fitting. These have been in my family since they were acquired in 1972. Interestingly, I also had the pleasure of knowing Beth and Herbert Levine as family friends. Wonderful, very generous people!
