Clean and odor free.This is a hard to find pictorial map issued in 1962, soon after the completion of the Berlin Wall in 1961. West Berlin is shown encircled by barbed wire on north, south and west, with the Berlin Wall shown in 3D enclosing it on the east. The map measures approximately 23.25 x 33 inches when completely unfolded.The map is generalized, showing major thoroughfares, neighborhoods, airports and various landmarks, but not small streets. It is also filled with information on the back, including economic information such as goods supplied and purchased, aid provided to West Berlin, volume of mail, etc.21 major landmarks identified by number, including the Brandenburg Gate. Map legend is provided in French, English, German and Spanish. An amazing piece of history, not intended so much as a traveller's map but more as a representation of the political situation and economic importance of West Berlin during the early Cold War.Note, I have one also without that little edge tear, so please check my other listing if you would prefer that.All images are photos or scans of the exact item you will receive.
