Description: Up for sale is a very rare casting of the 9 inch special effects filming model of the Flying Sub that was made to scale for the 8 1/2 foot Seaview submarine filming model for Irwin Allen's 1960s TV classic, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA. The model is very sturdy and is made of fiberglass. Styrene "fin" templates are included. This is how the model looked when pulled directly from the studio mold and before any of the scratchbuilt detail pieces were added. You can prominently see this 9 inch model being wrestled by the creature in the episode "Deadly Creature Below." It can also be seen in certain shots with the 8 1/2 foot Seaview filming model. Again.....an incredibly rare item! I doubt that you will see another! A GREAT addition to any classic VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA Collection!
