This is a stencil sax manufactured by the venerable Yanagisawa corporation of Japan. It is easily identified as such because the Yani logo is stamped right on the body (under the serial number), and very prominently on the octave key. The serial number is 2268244. This horn is being sold as is for restoration. It is not playable in its current state. To be honest, it is in pretty rough shape. It will definitely require a full overhaul, plus a silver solder repair to the low C# key, to be made playable. Please read on for details on its condition. The body is straight, and the neck has not been pulled down. The tenon and corked ends of the neck are both round, and there are no dents in the neck tube. The bottom of the bow is flattened, and there is also a large dent on the front of the bow. There are additional small dings, pings, nicks, and a few slightly pushed in posts. The rim of the bell is bent down and dented. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly. The rollers are all turning. The pad cup of the low C# is broken off in the middle of its arm connecting to the hinge rod. The broken off part is included. It will need to be silver soldered back together. The lacquer shows heavy wear and scratching throughout. The pads are heavily worn, as are the corks/felts. All pads/corks/felts will need to be replaced. This horn comes in a hard, wood shell case. The case is solid, but well worn. Some of the exterior trim has come off. The latches engage properly, and the handle is intact though. The interior shows normal wear and tear, and it smells a bit musty. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included. I will however make sure it ships with an end plug.
