Description: This listing is for a pre-owned 1944 American Red Cross folding map of Paris. Condition is as described above and as shown in the photos. The dimensions are approximately 3" x 5 3/8" folded and 14 1/4" x 21 1/4" unfolded. This map belonged to a soldier in the 173rd Field Artillery Group who campaigned in France, Germany, and Austria from 1944-1945. The map was printed in Paris for U.S. troops shortly after the liberation of Paris which occurred on August 19-25, 1944. Interesting note: the map is printed on the back of a German map of Allonby Bay in Cumbria, England. The printer repurposed paper from previous map runs due to a shortage of paper at the time.
