Vintage Wahl Oxford Fountain Pen - 14kt Gold Nib

Description: Vintage Wahl Oxford Fountain Pen - 14kt Gold Nib - Restored! Wahl Eversharp was one of the biggest and most well known manufacturers of fountain pens in the 1930's and 1940's. They're most known for their beautiful metal overlay pens in the 1920's and the "Skyline" of the 1940's. During the 1930's they had a more affordable line of pens under the "Wahl Oxford" line including this one. Features: - Fully restored! Cleaned inside and out and fitted with a fresh new ink sac. It is ready to write! Please let me know if you need filling instructions, I can send over more detailed instructions or a Youtube clip.- 14kt gold medium nib. Very good flow, some feedback - the alignment isn't perfect. It is a bit soft although I wouldn't call it a flex or semi-flex nib.- Gorgeous green marbled celluloid body.- Comfortable pen posted. It is a little bit on the smaller size, a little under 5 inches but is a comfortable width.\ Condition Notes: - Generally pretty nice condition! The celluloid on the body is great. Very little wear, especially for a pen this old. It's a very shiny and attractive pen. The imprint is nice and crisp. The cap is in good condition but has a few nibbles (see pics).- The gold plating on these "Oxford" pens was very thin, and as is typical with this line, the gold plating is not in good condition. It is completely worn off the lever and very worn on the clip. The cap band in slightly better shape but has wear as well.- As mentioned above, the nib isn't perfectly aligned but it writes well enough so I left it alone. I noticed my ink came out much darker in this pen, I think it is because the feed is very wet. I noticed a little bit of dry out (may have contributed to the darker ink) but not too bad.- The lever sticks out just a little bit. I've seen this on other Wahl pens from this era so I think it is a quirk of how they were manufactured, or at least a common issue. It fills great so just a cosmetic thing. Overall, this is a nice example of Wahl's Oxford pens. It has some wear but I think this pen had minimal use over the years, it looks great for being around 90 years old give or take.
