This is a Vietnam War era knife. The knife is marked Western Bolder Colo, USA on one side of the guard and W49 on the other side. The knife measures almost 14.75" long overall with a blade length of about 9.4". One of the wooden handle pieces is cracked all the way across the mounting pins and on to the pommel end (see pictures 5,6,7). The guard shows heavy tarnish and some oxidation. The blade shows heavy tarnish and some scratches. The blade edge is in very good shape. The sheath is not marked anywhere that I can see. It shows heavy wear with some scratches and scuffs. Near the bottom half of the sheath there looks to have been some tape on it that was removed and it left heavy residue. The leather does show some cracking in areas including the top strap and the top loop piece. Please take a look at all of the pictures for condition. This belonged to a gentleman named Herbert C.
