Description: This 7" female doll's folk costume is from the area of South Vedbo in the province of Smaland. Her skirt is an authentic striped pattern from this town. This sort of costume is from the 18th to 19th centuries. These dolls are made with a wire frame, around which a foam material is wrapped for stuffing. The many details, as a walking stick, violins and bows, wooden shoes and the sewn cloth parts are all hand made. This is an older doll, and has a slight dusty look to her face, but very clean without flaws. This artist was very popular internationally from the 1950's to about the 1990's, but the dolls are still being sought after by numerous collectors.
