Thumbscrews tighten for angles of 45 to 90 degrees, and the level vial is virtually unbreakable. Now...if you understood all that...then you are the Right Person for this tool. I can say with certainty that I am *not* the Right Person for this tool. Just being honest. This Squangle has a patent date of 1966; that doesn't mean it was produced in 1966...however I inherited this with my father's tools, so there's a good chance this is an older one. It does have a few scratches on it, but nothing which could keep it from being used and read appropriately. The level is intact and working as it should.
