Description: This beautifully woven work of art was made in Romania in 1975. It is hand woven, with red being the primary color accented with black, white and tan. The weaving is tight with fine threads. There is fringe all the way around. The fringe on the sides is much shorter than the fringe on the ends. It would be a beautiful rug for a doll house, or could be used as a desk "cozy" to prevent scratches from keys, etc. It would also be beautiful if sewn onto a jacket or bag. Framing it for wall display would be lovely as well. It feels like cotton to me, but I cannot be for certain. It does have a few very minor condition issues (appears the threads are broken just in a few places, but very hard to see) - please see photos. It is a little dusty, but I honestly did not want to risk cleaning it as I was uncertain of the dyes and fibers. The tags are original and identify it as handmade in Romania in 1975. Approximately 6-1/2" x 5.25" without the fringe, Approximately 10" x 6" with the fringe.
