Description: For your consideration is this very rare Denver Broncos game used Riddell Kra-Lite II football helmet, attributed to Rick Upchurch. See photos for photo matches from both Topps cards of Upchurch as well as action pictures from NFL games. This beauty may have been worn during the Broncos Super Bowl appearance and loss to the Dallas Cowboys. This is a rare RIDDell Microfit helmet, which is a very rare helmet used by many players for only several years during the early 1970s! This amazing helmet was originally manufactured in 1975, as evidenced by the date stamp above the earhole. This amazing helmet retains “Upchurch” and “80” written above earhole in black felt tip marker, most likely by Broncos equipment managers. Helmet shows appropriate “V” cut in the wildcat sweatband to provide access to the valve where pressure was adjusted for a snug protective fit. Striping and decals are vintage and appropriate for the era as evidenced by appropriate shrinkage for a 50 year old helmet. Helmet is in attractive used condition and is a fine example of a historic helmet and includes paper thin original team issued decals, and an original vintage Schutt white OPO full facemask which matches the mounting and shape of the photos provided, and vintage RIDDell leather jaw pads! Great investment opportunity as NFL gamers from the 1970s are getting more difficult to find and increasing in value. Own this helmet and your friends will swear you stole it from the Rams locker room after a game in 1973! Will make a stunning display, and looks like it just came off the field! All of our helmets are for display purposes only! They are not to be used or worn for competitive play. Westbrook Sportscards has been in business since 1988.
