You are looking at an older, rarer and unique Atlas desk stand sold during the 1950's & 1960's era and perfect for just about any older vintage microphone. The TS-8 was uber modern and a very elegant desk stand. This example is the 1960's era TS-8 made in Parsippany, NJ. Pic # 2 is from an older Atlas catalog I have showing this particular model. Atlas only made this stand for roughly 10 to 15 years which is why you see so few of these stands around. This seldom seen stand could use a variety of chrome risers depending on the users needs but this one comes with the original dual chrome risers giving you a bit of height to work with. This stand will work well with any screw on mic or mic clip you have and it's ideal for small, medium and larger sized mics. The TS-8 came with a cast iron base, chrome cover and the teller risers. This larger, heavier desk stand was ideal for microphones that needed extra height and stability. The TS-8 model is much harder to tip over and is literally about 4 times larger and heavier than the Atlas DS-5 model. Total dimensions are 8 inches wide and can be adjusted from 14 inches in height up too 25 i inches if needed. It's quite heavy. The upper chrome stem shows typical lite wear. The lower stem / riser shows a little more wear as does the Atlas logo. The cover is actually made of brass with a quality polished chrome finish. There are spots of lite corrosion and a few small dings here and there. No rust on the bottom of the cast iron base. This is a pretty good looking TS-8 model stand overall. This stand is an easy 7 on a scale of 10. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. All 6 felt pads are in excellent condition and new. The stand will accept just about any microphone as this stand has the universal 5/8 thread. This is perfect for the old "Fatboy" 55 or RCA 77DX because of it's wide, stable base. If you need a rarer model for the collection or every day use...the TS-8 will do the trick. I very rarely ever get these in and just sold the other two I had the other day.
