Description: Vintage Rare 1934 World's Fair Exhibition Chicago Art Institute Book Vintage Rare 1934 World's Fair Exhibition Chicago Art Institute Book Click images to enlarge Description Rare Vintage 1934 Souvenir Photo Book World's Fair Fine Art Exhibition at the Art Institute Chicago To celebrate Chicago's Centennial, this World's Fair 'A Century of progress' was held from 1933 - 1934. This soft bound book was published by the Chicago Daily News and features 50 art masterpieces from the fine arts exhibition held at the Art Institute with commentary from C.J. Bulliet, a famous art critic of the day. The photos are reproduced in black and white and are printed on cream colored semi-glossy stock. The cream colored matte cover stock printed with orange & black ink features eye-catching Art Deco chalk style lettering & type fonts. It has a sewn binding, although the back cover has become detached, but could be reattached with a little patience. The spine has also lost its binding and there is a small stain on the front cover. Dimensions are 8" x 10-3/4". The condition is good, considering the issues I've mentioned with only minor edge wear and Inside pages are clean. Please note that the color of the pages and cover is a cream or manila tone and not white as pictured. This unique booklet documenting such impressive artwork, especially in view of the time relationship to the Great Depression, would be a wonderful addition to a collection of 'A Century of Progress International Exposition' memorabilia.
