Description: I am selling a Vietnam period Randall Made Knife Model 2 "Fighting Stiletto".Blade: Carbon Steel 7" blade.Handle: made out of leather with a Commando shape handle with a brass double guard and an aluminum pommel.Sheath: Original Rough Back Sheath with a "White SP-13 'Bear' brand Soft Arkansas" sharpening stone. About the sharpening stone:From the article "Seventy Years of Sharpening Stones" 2012 by Sheldon Wickersham "White SP-13 'Bear' brand Soft Arkansas stones were used from very late 1969 into the mid 1970s." Although the sheath and stone are not a reliable source for dating a Randall, many considerthese two elements as a convenient proof of manufacturing date, knowing that both may not be original to the knife in question. Another aspect to take into account is the shape of the choil, in this case, the blade presents a shallow choil that corresponds to aknife produced in the late 60s very early 70s.A beautiful feature this stiletto has is a longer pommel. Remember that the intention of the pommel is to protect the handle and to balance the knife. I only saw long pommels on knives from the 60s. As is, no returns
