Description: For sale is a vintage Pope Pius X 3rd class touch relic.This item measures approx. 3 1/2" wide by 2 1/4" high when open.This item is vintage and has a great deal of age and wear. All the corners and edges are very worn with rips and holesall over. There is also fading in the cranberry color of the holder.There is ground-in dirt on the plastic covering the photo and relic.Also, this really doesn't fold. It may have always been left open,and now it would probably become ruined if you fold it. Thered holder is too stiff now. First and 2nd class relics are rare, are considered sacred, and are usually found in churches. First class relics are actually from the body of the saint like a strand of hair.Second class relics are something the saint owned like a Bible or a piece of clothing. 3rd class are just "touch" relics. They are pieces of cloth that have been touched to a1st or 2nd class relic and then cut up into tiny pieces and put into medals, holders, etc... It may have been a piece of cloth that was touched to the saint, touched their tomb, or touched to anything they owned or wore. I only sell 3rd class relics which I have bought over the years at various sales, and for themost part, I have no history of the items.
