Description: You are looking at a vintage floral hurricane lamp from my grandmother's estate. There appears to be no maker's mark on this, but I would guess it is from the 1940s, 50s, or possibly 60s. It is NOT a converted oil lamp, but rather manufactured to look like one. It is approximately 21" tall to the top of the top globe, and 24" tall to the top of the chimney. The graphics/painting on both the top and bottom globes are bold and vivid. The glass is all free of chips or cracks except for flea bites at the interior rim of the top globe, where the chimney is inserted (see picture); the flea bites are visible only if you are looking directly down on to the top globe. The metal portions are nicely tarnished, with with no visible damage or corrosion to be found. Several of the fins that hold the chimney in place are missing, but these are not visible unless the top globe is off. The remaining fins hold the chimney firmly in place. The buyer will likely want to re-wire the lamp, as the cord is brown plastic and not period appropriate. In addition, the lamp operates by plugging and unplugging it. A cloth cord with an in-line switch would probably do the trick. Please also note that only the top globe lights -- the bottom globe appears to never have been wired for light. Please see the pictures for further details.
