Description: Pennsbury Pottery in Morrisville PA produced numerous ceramic shapes 1950s-70s, many that could be used as kitchenware or serving pieces. Their pieces were designed with whimsical Americana/ Pennsylvania Dutch/Folk Art patterns and hand-painted, mostly with cheerful earth-tone glazes. This jug-shaped oil and vinegar set has a colorful rooster and branches on the front and the wording "oil" and "vinegar". The backs have a leafy branch. The rooster-shaped stoppers have been intricately painted with detail on the comb, beak, tail and wings. Both pieces are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing. It is sometimes difficult to find the cruets with their stoppers - both stoppers still have corks but one has been pushed into the ceramic rooster over time as can be seen in the photos. Ships USPS.
