This is an authentic original adidas shirt made in West Germany in the late 1980s. The shirt has the correct Netherlands football flock badge and adidas logo. Multiple variations of these shirts were produced (see West Germany example from Classic FS). The USSR and Morocco would also wear with Classic Football Shirts selling a Morocco match issue version for £2,000. These original adidas shirts are incredibly rare and widely considered a football shirt holy grail. Perfect for a big Netherlands fan or football shirt enthusiast. The shirt is in excellent condition. There is a loose thread on the rear adidas stripe on the right shoulder. All other stitching is excellent, there are no pinpricks or marks. Pretty much perfect apart from the thread which makes it even rarer for an original adidas shirts from the 1980s. The size is men's medium (M). This is an 80s medium so smaller than your 2022 medium. Fits a 36-38 inch or 91-97 cm chest. Approximately fits between the heights of 5ft 5 (stocky) to 5ft 8 (slim). We'd like to point out that an interesting debate surrounds this kit. Although there is widespread evidence of this original online on well respected football shirt history websites and it has been sold by respected retailers, there are various theories about this kit. Certain theories point to a plain white kit the Dutch wore in non-Euros matches in 1988 (qualifiers & friendlies). However, for home matches before and after the Euros the Dutch also wore a much plainer orange shirt with white arms stripes. Therefore the Netherlands home and away kits worn in the qualifiers were not those worn at Euros. In the days before kit commercialism, the Dutch only needed to wear the orange home shirt with this design at the tournament as no kits clashed. Therefore this kit wasn't worn during a match.
