Description: I bought this in the mid 1980's as I was opening a vintage clothing shop in the Haight Ashbury. We were in awe then and that was still a time when we had a considerable sized rack of N Turk, Nudie and so much more to compare. The debate of - is it '40's or '50's never ended on this one. Many many old timers were part of that debate. Nothing settled. This is the only outfit of its kind I ever kept or wore. Meanwhile, still a thin young man I wore it to Tokyo and Osaka where people, many people bowed and stared and followed. And back home I never bought my own drink at a rockabilly show. The shirt is not gabardine but some finely woven wool in order to handle this level of embroidery. The slacks are the very best gabardine you will ever feel. This is very much so still a wearable garment but I hope it ends up in a museum. The Turk quality and style deserves to be seen centuries from now. Having touched, bought and sold so many, I think this outfit is the penultimate of their time. It has been in storage well over thirty years and needs a professional cleaning by the very best. I am far out in the country and wouldn't let any dry cleaner I know within 150 mile radius touch it. So it's best someone else with experience and trust in their cleaners does this. Some measurements:Shoulders Just over 19" Thin man who wears a size 40 R sport coat size. Sleeve 26"Waist almost 31" with about an inch to let out.Length 33" Please examine all photos carefully. They are an important part of the description and condition. Message me with any questions you may have. Buyer pays priority shipping and full price paid insurance with required signature upon delivery. The only way I can see to charge close to cost on insurance (19.00 per thousand) and required signature is to add it as handling. So you will see cost of shipping package and handling charge for the rest. International bidders welcome but must contact me before bidding so I can determine your shipping and insurance costs in advance. This outfit is at least 70 years old and it is not perfect. There will be no refunds so consider carefully. Thank y'all and enjoy the show. Note: Also have a couple of late 60's suits listed which belonged to Sonny West, songwriter for Buddy Holly.
