Description: Antique or vintage glazed ceramic Santa Claus shaker. He is in a kneeling position with mittened hands resting on his knees. He wears a European style Father Christmas suit. The beard, mustache, eyebrows, hair and hat trim are unglazed. It's possible that they were glazed at one point and the glaze has worn off. He's wearing boots that can be seen from the back. Possible label remnants on back of coat. The high gloss, brilliant red glaze and the clothing make me think this is German, but the piece is unmarked. Perhaps its mate carried the marking. Measures 2-1/2" tall. No chips or cracks. I can find no comps on this so am listing it as rare. Cool addition to a Santa collection.
