Description: VINTAGE KEILWERTH Armstrong 3040 Tenor Saxophone, OHSC & New THEO WANNE Mouthpiece, S/N 49xx, Real Pearl Buttons, New Theo Wanne Essentials Contemporary 7* Mouthpiece, Yibuy Golden Jazz 7 Mouthpiece, Excellent Player, Made in Germany! (There are some Armstrong 3040 models made in the USA and they do not have diamond-shaped posts, so they were not made by Keilwerth: all modern Keilwerths have diamond- shaped posts, not the ones made in Czechoslovakia though.) This Keilwerth stencil was made for Conn-Armstrong-King when the companies were owned by Daniel J. Henkin from about 1980-1985: Henkin was SMART! If they did this today, each saxophone would cost over $7,500.00! When the European economy was attempting to recover from the destruction of WWII and The Iron Curtain, American saxophone companies were having the best saxophones in the world made for them in Europe! Keilwerth also made the Armstrong Heritage tenor saxophone, the DJH Modified tenor saxophone which revived the Conn Naked Lady logo from the Conn 10M, as well as numerous other stencils like the King Tempo: all of their horns are great. This horn plays from top to bottom with the enclosed New Theo Wanne Essentials Contemporary Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece, which provides amazing power and tone with this horn! This combination is hard to beat, and Theo Wanne is now making some of the best saxophone mouthpieces in the world! Also the Yibuy Golden Jazz 7 Mouthpiece is great (check the Yibuy play-test on YouTube by an experienced saxophonist, and watch is reaction). All used items are sold as-is, no returns.
