Expertly crafted from hardwoods and painted satin black. The exterior is beautifully decorated with gold and silver hand-painted Chinoiserie designs. The top is hinged, and opens to reveal an interior that is painted a brilliant Chinese yellow. The inset panel on the top has a removable piece of glass that protects it, and makes it a perfect place to set a drink. The case sets on round, tapered feet. Marked on the underside with the Widdicomb label. In excellent condition. Structurally perfect. Near mint to mint. The top opens and closes smoothly, and closes tightly. No warping. There are a few minor dings on the trimwork around the central top panel, and one or two around the skirt just above the feet, too small to photograph. Otherwise, no damage, repairs, wear or fading. Exceptionally clean piece from a non-smoking, no-pet home. Measurements: 22" wide, 16" deep and 19" high. The flat panel with the glass insert on the top is 12.5" x 6.75".
