Description: This listing is for the old vase that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. Most of the items in the sale were vintage or antique. Some research tells me that it is probably from the first half of the 20th century. and that it was made in Japan. There are no identifying marks on it. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is and where it is from. The silver colored parts are metal that is woven together at the top and at the bottom with strips running down the sides. I think that the metal is probably silver plate or some other kind of silver colored plate. The strips running down the sides can be moved. they are not attached to the porcelain. The vase measures close to 6 ¼ inches tall. It weighs close to 11.8 ounces. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. It is generally in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. A photo shows how in one area the crackle in one area is not very dark like it is on the rest of the vase. I think that it may have been made that way. I found two tiny spots where the silver finish on the metal looks a little oxidized. One of those spots shows in the photos. The inside looks soiled. I have not tried to clean it. Otherwise, this vase is fine and has shown.I guarantee this vase to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" or “close to” because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a box custom made for items that I do not have a used box for which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials.
